Usually documentaries such as these try to show their subject in a bad light for dramatic effect, often leaving out those that are conscientious and hardworking. However the impression I got was that there are a lot of decent hardworking people running our railways, often against adversity. Quite often they had to put up with dreadful behaviour by the travelling public. I don't understand why some people think it is perfectly acceptable to board a train while very drunk and cause a nuisance to everyone else. One American ticket inspector was shocked at how some people speak to the (British Transport) police. She said that you would never be able to do that in America. You would be cuffed and arrested or worse. Hopefully people might now think twice before verbally abusing staff about problems that are obviously out of their control when they are doing their best to help in an often bad situation.
