I have been following this project for a few years now, and it seem to be making headway with the station site development. The web site it very informative with regards to what they hope to achieve, and the progress tab direct you to the very latest updates. Now that the line on the bluebell has been laid to EG, my attention has turned to this project. I have also left ‘Bluebell yahoo groups’ as it was becoming very anal, and the bickering too much.
My question is, dose anybody know anything regarding the level crossings on the RVR?
Many Thanks

I used to live and work in the area of the RVR and am too very interested in their progress. In fact were I to live nearer I too might take a more active interest now that the Bluebell is finished (and soo busy). It seems that I may have been permanently banned from the Bluebell Yahoo group (gosh I must have really upset someone) as I have sent some deliberately fairly banal messages to the group and only one "slipped through" the net. I hope others realise that completely open discussion is not welcome there. As for the subject of the RVR I doubt a level crossing will appear in the short or even medium term , it's on a busy fast road and my thought is that the Council will not be too keen to allow a crossing unless it has some sort of lights to augment the normal gates. I'd also expect that any crossing would have to have lighting as it is in a very rural area.

Looks like there are three crossings and looking on their web site they still have to purchase the track bed. I had a look on their web site today and they are doing well with the platform. A few weeks of good weather and the track will be down, have a look on their web site, its updated every week or two.

Lots of progress, platform and connection to main line is under construction !!! Planning application to connect to Kent & East Sussex Railway is in place. Have a look at the photos on their website. When they first said they would connect to the K&ESR some of their members said it would never happen and abandoned ship so to speak, shame on them and WELL DONE to the people that have made it possible .
